 Lodging
The duck hunting lodge sits atop a hill overlooking the floodplain of the Parana River . The rolling hills leading down to the marsh are dotted with the legendary "Ombu" trees famous in Argentine folklore. The house was designed with the every need of the accomplished wingshooter in mind. Upon returning from the duck hunt, hunters enter a heated mudroom designed for storing hunting clothes and drying boots. The next door leads to a fully equipped gun cleaning room where you, or if prefer, your guide can ready your shotgun for the next days
hunt.
 We offer expert assistance in clearing Argentine customs should you wish to
bring your own shotguns to Los Ombues, however at the lodge our clients can use any of forty top brand shotguns we stock. Try our Benelli, Browning, Beretta or Franchis. We also offer side-by-sides, over-and-under or auto loaders in gauges ranging from the sporting 410 bore to the reliable 12 gauge. Once through the cleaning room you enter the grand living room, where overstuffed chairs and sofas are arranged to offer a spectacular view of the hills and
marshes through a bay window or, alternatively, a cozy gathering around the oversized fireplace. The walls are adorned with mounted ducks and trophy
racks, and a gun rack allows hunters to display their favorite shotguns.
 Next door is the dining room. The locally made table and chairs comfortably accommodate 16 diners and another bay window looks out across the
seemingly endless expanse of the delta. The dining room is provisioned by food prepared in our modem kitchen or from the outside parrilla (grill), where we prepare such delicacies as whole suckling pig and lamb. Almost everyday, game
is included in the menu, and we are always eager to learn new recipes from our clients for their favorite ways of preparing doves, ducks and partridge. However, Argentine beef, home-made pasta dishes, and fIan acquaint our guests to some of the other foods that make the dining at Los Ombues exceptional. Of course, a variety of Argentine wines of unusual quality are offered at every meal (at break fast by special request only).
 After lunch, many of our guests retire to their bedrooms to prepare body and soul for the afternoons adventures. Los Ombues has seven spacious, light-filled, bedrooms (2 beds each), each with a private bathroom, and large windows offering views of the hills or marsh. The lodge
offers central heating in the winter, while ceiling fans and the cross-ventilation provided by numerous screened windows, keep the house cool on warm summer days. Our 600 gallon tank ensures limitless hot water throughout the day.
The lodge also has most of the facilities that any businessman may need while abroad, such as telephone, fax machine, and PC.
 How to get to the Lodge
Several airlines provide daily non-stop service to Buenos Aires from the U.S. and Europe . Our staff will greet you at the Buenos Aires airport, guide you through gun clearance procedures, and see to your transportation to the lodge. Guests may choose among transport options which include driving in a chauffeured minivan (four and a half hours), flying by commercial carrier to Santa Fe airport (the 1 hour flight is followed by a 2 hour car ride), or flying by charter plane to the our private, grass-landing strip minutes from Los Ombues.
